Seerah Halaqah
Posted by Ayham on February 01, 2009 at 12:47 AM
" Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much."
( Surah Al-Ahzab (33) Verse 21 )

As Allah ( SWT ) mentions in the Holy Quran , the Prophet(Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)’s character is an excellent example for us to follow, and we can learn this example by studying the seerah, the life of the Messenger (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). Mohammed (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) was a perfect model as a human being in each and every aspect of his life. He was a political leader, military leader, an imam, a father, and a husband. And there is no example better than his to be successful in any of these positions. His personality and character are like that of no other person and the best example for us to follow.
Allah has commanded us to follow the example of the Prophet ( PBUH ). Whose life is better to learn from than that of the best man to ever walk the face of the earth, the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) ?

InshAllah, we are planning on starting a Seerah halaqa for brothers and sisters alike. We encourage everyone ( UTD or non-UTD students ) to contact the Brothers activities coordinator, Muhammad Jehangir (activities-brothers@utdmsa.org ) , if you are interested in attending these weekly halaqas. The day and time has not been confirmed yet, but we are planning to start it by the weekend of February 13th InshAllah.

JazakAllah Khair

Quran Classes
Posted by rifaz on December 28, 2008 at 09:11 PM
By the Grace of ALLAH, MSA UTD is happy to announce Quran reading Classes to start soon Inshaa ALLAH.

If you are interested, please fill in the attached form and send it back to MSA Activities Coordinator Br. Muhammad Khan (activities-brothers@utdmsa.org).

We encourage all Muslim students (especially non-arabic speakers) to apply for these classes. We may have limited seats in the beginning, but we will try to accommodate all applicants Inshaa ALLAH.

Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him encouraged his followers to learn the Quarn as he said:

(1) "The best of you is he who learns the Qur'aan and teaches it." (Reported by Bukhari)

(2) "Will not any of you go to the Masjid and learn or read two verses from the Book of Allah 'The Exalted', Mighty and Glorified be He? (For) that is better for him than two she-camels, and three (verses) are better for him than three (she-camels), and four (verses) are better for him than four (she-camels). And the number (of verses read in total) are
better than the same number of camels." (Reported by Muslim)

(3) "There is no envy (acceptable) except in two (cases): a person whom Allah has given the Qur'aan and recites it throughout the night and throughout the day. And a person whom Allah has given wealth, that he gives out throughout the night and throughout the day." (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim)

May ALLAH guides us all to learning his book, and acting upon his words, Ameen.
